We rely on a highly skilled and internationally regarded group of craftsmen to undertake restorations on our behalf, many of whom have worked with in the major restoration workshops of Europe and the United States.
Our central London premises is too small to undertake anything other than light incidental repairs. However, we depend on a network of restorers and provide advice about the most suitable craftsmen for any particular project. For regular maintenance and small repairs we have a number of highly qualified restorers on hand in London, with whom we have relationships going back many years. For major restorations we are able to look for suitable restorers from an international field of respected colleagues. We make a point of matching the right restorer for the job, with concern for realistic pricing and fair value for money.
We hold regular tone adjustment clinics at Somerset House. Email us at email@example.com to book an appointment.
insurance claims & repairs
We handle insurance claims on behalf of all major musical instrument insurers. If your instrument is damaged in an accident, we will arrange to inspect it as soon after the accident as possible. We can provide an assessment and recommend the most suitable restorer for the nature of the instrument and damage caused.
We hold regular studio sessions for obtaining professional photographs of instruments. These are useful for new makers who want to present their work to the best possible advantage, but also provide an increasingly important safeguard for your instrument for insurance purposes, either to document condition, or in case of theft.
