Benjamin Hebbert Violins

VIOLONCELLOS

When you come to my workshop you will discover that there is very little room for cellos, and three floors of a precarious seventeenth century staircase means that double basses are completely out of the question here.  Cellos, at any rate, are much rarer than violins, and the process of finding a suitable fine instrument can be longer and more challenging.  As a result I am highly selective about the cellos that are available here and aim for quality over quantity to help curate the decision-making process for my customers. Over time, I have had fine examples by Goffriller, Vuillaume, Banks, Panormo and members of the Hill fmaily  but it is always important to find cellos that provide a fantastic playing opportunity for a budget and with the understanding that cellos can become very expensive very quickly I am always interested in instruments that provide a compelling argument for sale at a lower price. Although I maintain a small stock, there are always instruments within my radar that may be available privately or through other dealers. Please contact me if you are looking for a good cello as I am often able to help to refine the search.
