Benjamin Hebbert Violins

Atelier Casara, Brazil, contemporary

A good contemporary Brazilian cello bow from the Atelier Casara, Brazil.

I don’t have a video for this instrument yet. Until I make one, here is a short film that I commissioned in 2016 as part of the Yehudi Menuhin Centenary to help support Newark School of Violin Making, co-founded by him in 1972. If you would like to extend your support of the school, please like and share this video as the exposure is incredibly important in raising awareness of this precious institution.

Description

A good contemporary Brazilian cello bow from the Atelier Casara, Brazil.

For 250 years the best woods for making violin bows have come from the coastal regions of Brazil, and in the last twenty-five years local manufacture of bows has developed enormously so that the better bows offer outstanding value for the price. This is a superb example of what excites me in these terms, made from a really strong and powerful stick, it has all of the properties to take a student through the grades.
